There is something so cozy and nostalgic about the fall season, it has always been my favorite. Hearing a football game on in the background, sipping mulled apple cider, seeing all of the beautiful colors on the trees, curling up under a fluffy blanket or hearing the sounds of leaves rustle and crunch under my feet as I head out for an evening walk all just remind me how grateful I am to experience this beautiful time of year, a season I missed for nearly a decade while living in the southeast before moving to California 2 years ago.

While many of us gravitate towards lighter and brighter colors during summer, I have to say that as a lover of classic style, black is a staple that I just love wearing year round, and there is nothing better than great fitting black jeans paired with heels, flats or boots during fall! They're easy to dress up or make more casual-a staple in every lady's wardrobe! What I love about this pair is that they hold their shape due to having a bit of stretch and have retained their color really well compared with other black denim I've owned in the past. I recently purchased a second pair on sale and also own 2 pairs in the dark denim wash, both colors are essentials for my fall casual wardrobe. I wear a size 4 long for reference (the long size is awesome for all of us tall girls!) these also come in regular and short lengths.

This rose embroidered ruffle sleeve top has just enough pattern and a pop of color and the best part is it's just under $20! While I could have paired this outfit with a solid black clutch, I find the pattern play against my top along with a red mani adds a playful twist which is perfect for date night or casual Friday at the office.

What's your favorite thing about fall? What pieces are you most excited about wearing this season?

TMBR Wood Watch Review

A few weeks ago, TMBR wood watches reached out to me to collaborate. While I enjoy such partnerships, I'm very particular about what I share with you all here because authenticity is important to me and as such, anything I share with you has to be a natural fit into my mostly classic wardrobe as well as something I'd truly recommend. After having the opportunity to wear it on a few different occasions, I can say that my new rose gold wood-face helm watch fits that bill, TMBR also has a handful of other beautiful women's wood watches. What I like most is that it's so versatile for everyday wear because the face is light and simple, the brown leather band adds a bit of a casual aesthetic but the rose gold balances it out as it adds a feminine vibe, it's also affordable at under $100. A classy woman should invest in a few different watches for her wardrobe to coordinate with various outfits. I like how this one is different than the others I already own, a great addition to my collection. Here's a look that I wore recently on a cooler California day.

It's no secret I love the weather here in the Bay Area, one day we'll get an 85-degree dose of blazing sunshine perfect for spring days by the pool, and the next we'll be back into the 60's and layering up once again. I wouldn't have it any other way-I appreciate the variety as I really enjoy wearing layers. I wore this outfit a couple weeks ago to check in on a few properties we were staging that happened to be under renovation. As much as I gravitate to heels for my professional attire there are days where I have the ability to dress down more casually and flats just make more sense in terms of safety. I've been living in these sneakers lately, especially walking up and down steep hills in San Francisco, while in homes under construction still and while on-the-go with my busy preschooler. Although I often use my phone to keep time when running from appointment to appointment, I still prefer to wear a watch, so this one has become the perfect addition to wear on more casual days.

My sweetie could tell you that I've literally been living in these skinny jeans on weekends, which you may have noticed if you follow my insta stories. I purchased them in black as well as the dark wash several months ago and wear them so often that I just bought another identical pair of each color as they're currently 40% OFF right now so it's like getting a pair for free. They have great stretch, fit true to size (for reference I'm wearing a size 4 tall). It's hard for me to find long jeans that fit like a glove in a longer length so when I discovered these which are super soft and comfortable, I knew I'd be buying them in more colors-they also come in white which is a staple for summer. For the past couple months I think I've worn this Tory Burch bag nearly every day as I love the adjustable strap which can be worn longer over the shoulder, cross-body or doubled up like I'm wearing it here. It's the perfect size, fits all of my necessities and is so versatile that I can go from a day of client meetings in a dress or suit to dressing up a pair of jeans after hours, it is the perfect classic go-to bag in my opinion.

JORD Wood Watch Review + Giveaway

When JORD Watches reached out to me weeks ago to collaborate, I approached it the way I always do when such opportunities come my way, I first researched their website, then dug a little deeper to learn what customers were saying before saying 'yes'. It's important to me that I only share products and brands with you, my readers, that meet the highest standards and are in fact items I would use/wear.

After choosing my favorite style and providing my wrist measurements (they provide a really easy tool to get the right fit), I was delighted to open up the box once my watch arrived. All of their watches come in this wooden embossed JORD logo box hugging a pillow to keep it in place which protects and houses the watch when you're not wearing it. There are anti-humidity packs that slide into a little ventilated drawer under the watch to help regulate humidity-important for wood.

While I had my eye on a few different styles, in the end I chose the Koa and rose gold model from the Cora series which is made of Koa wood  (a species native to Hawaii) with a rose gold face adorned with Swarovski crystal markers. You all know my love for blush pink and rose gold! The face is made of sapphire glass vs. regular glass, known in the luxury watch industry as the definitive material for transparency and durability. This ensures that your watch face will remain scratch-resistant and remain as clear as the day you first wear it.

While I have a few timepieces in my jewelry box that I adore, because they are made with classic silver and gold bands, I most often wear them when dressing up or for the workplace. One thing is for sure, this one is unique and adds a casual vibe that I love wearing with jeans. Most weekends I can generally be found wearing a maxi dress and denim jacket or jeans & a top, so my new JORD watch is a welcomed addition and one that I've received compliments on as well as questions in the 2 months of owning it. I have to say, I really enjoy the scent of the wood too, it's so earthy and helps to make this nature-lover feel a little bit more connected to nature even when I can't be.

When I originally measured my wrist I went for an ultra snug fit so it wouldn't be loose, which ended up being too tight (that was my own fault) so I reached out to the JORD customer service team to see what I could do to have one of the links added. Being a wood watch, I didn't want to entrust it to just any watch or jewelry shop. They were so helpful and had me return it to them to take care of after providing my updated measurements. It wasn't long after that I received it back with a perfect fit! I'm glad I misjudged my wrist size because it gave me the opportunity to see how the  JORD team treats their customers, which is always as important to me as the item itself.

If you have someone in your life who seems to have everything and you're forever searching for a great gift to buy them that is both unique and practical, I believe a JORD watch is your answer! I really love the women's collection of watches, but I have to admit the men's watches are really attractive too. They would make the perfect anniversary gift, graduation present and of course birthday or Christmas surprise. These luxury watches are quite reasonably priced too, most ranging between $139-$275.

Now for the fun part! Would you like your very own unique JORD Wood watch? Be sure to >> enter our giveaway right here << for your chance to win $100 towards the watch of your choice! Every entrant will receive a $25 gift certificate, so it's a win-win! This contest will close on Sept.24, 2017 at 11:59pm. Both the $100 code and the $25 codes will expire on 11/30/2017.

....

I wore this outfit last week on the most beautiful January day. It started off fairly chilly but the sun warmed things up quickly by noon. It was one of those days where you look for excuses to spend time outside even when you're supposed to be working inside. ;)

I don't typically wear a lot of plaid, and while I maintain a classic wardrobe and look most days, sometimes I like to experiment outside of my norm. Case in point: this pink plaid flannel shirt. I received a gift card for Christmas and decided to go for something different and because it was super soft and felt like pajamas, well I just couldn't resist! Since it was a casual day where I was running errands all over town coupled with working on proposals for clients at home, comfort and a punch of girly color was my goal for this look.

These are one of my older more worn-in pairs of skinny jeans (they started off as this dark rinse a few years ago and Loft still offers this modern skinny style), I paired them with a pink leopard print skinny belt in a similar hue for some pattern play, a pearl bracelet and pearl stud earrings to add a touch more femininity along with booties in a lighter tone. I added my sand color leather Calvin Klein handbag that I've owned for several years and a black corduroy jacket for the early morning temps, along with a swipe of pink lip gloss and some curls which completed the look.
