True Beauty

It is said that beauty is in the the eye of the beholder.  When you look in the mirror every morning do you feel beautiful?  How a woman feels about herself truly determines how she carries herself, respects herself and treats others. It is not something that can always be seen in a woman's outer appearance or specifically put into words, it radiates from within.

I love this quote below by Sophia Loren, it is so accurately stated. The belief of who we are is so much more powerful than what others think of us or tell us we are, or are not.

If you haven't had a chance to read my previous post on the Price of Beauty, be sure to check it out. Named after Jessica Simpson's VH1 show I share one of the women whom she meets and what she was willing to do all in the name of outer beauty.

I hope you are having a BEAUTIFUL day! :)

  1. Some days are better than others, but I try to love myself, wrinkles and all, every day!

BTW, I gave you a little shout out on my blog today for a comment you left about creating pillows from cloth napkins. Hope you'll drop if for no other reason than to see you name!

  2. Well this is a hard one! Isn't it so that outsiders always judge you first on how you look? But what does my big behind say about my heart(well......both are big ;)) but oke)??
How does it work....loving youself......I think I am a nice person(most of the time ;), and I know I always try to do the best I can, maybe even try to hard..........I'm loyal in my friendships, yes, sometimes TO loyal....but LOVE myself....??? When something goes wrong, or works out different then I hoped....the first one I blame is ME.....I accept so much from others......but on myself, I'm always to hard.....*grin*....my psychologist has enough on his hands with me:D.
I wish, one day, when I grow up *grin*....I hope I turn in to a calm, collective, balanced, charming aging lady LOL.
    There........there is hope;)

Well....again, a long story....lots to say, little time to say it:D!
    Have a nice evening!

    Love,
    Lynda

  3. Thanks for the shout out Karen! I loved your pillow, so pretty! :)

I agree with you-some days are better than others for sure. I certainly have my days where I look in the mirror, see a new wrinkle or sun freckle and sigh. lol.

Lynda-I can completely understand where you are coming from. I am a bit of a perfectionist and really used to put a lot of pressure on myself in many areas of my life. A few free spirited friends in my life (as well as my hubby) have taught me by their actions that sometimes life is more fun if you go with the flow and try not to take it all too seriously.

I like to think that I now fall somewhere in between their relaxed ways and my old self-a happy balance. :)

  5. Melissa~ Thanks for stopping by, following me and for your sweet words. I think that is a fabulous idea!

I have always told my hubby that I think raising girls would be a tough but rewarding job. One of my reasons for wanting girls so badly is to raise them up to be sweet, confident, polite and ambitious women. Something that many girls seem to lack in today's society.

You are setting a wonderful example. :)

    Hugs,
